The centers were based around networked play of the BattleTech (related to the Battletech RPG) and Red Planet combat and racing games via immerse pods. BattleTech enthusiasts have gone so far as to purchase new and decommissioned pods to set up their own centers. They consist of a large 40" Concave Mirror and a Beam-Splitter. Glass Mountain was purchased by Flight Safety International. Look up Colluminated Light.

The door frames in our house are roughly a little bigger than 36" without the molding. If I built this thing at 4x4x4 sections It would never leave the house. WebGames are about fun, and it's about a zillion times cooler to roleplay a badass pilot in a ten-meter tall battle machine than it is to step into the shoes of some pale dude in a bunker adjusting drone algorithms.
